Feature Stories: Child Sexual Abuse

A doctor does a forensic medical examination of a 3yr old girl raped the previous day by a 17yr old shopkeeper. Her mother discovered that something was wrong when she bathed the girl in the evening and the little girl didn't want her mother to touch her private parts. Her mother noticed blood and brought her to the Police Child Protection Unit the following morning. Port Shepstone – November 2002
